in june i erased my old blog, and then debated for a couple months on what to do with diaryofagirl.com. these things are no longer called “diaries†or “journals†and i am no longer a “girl.†10 years ago, in 1997, i created my first online diary entry on geocities, and through the years i’ve used the internet to write about my life (mainly through diaryland.com and livejournal.com) but in the past couple years i’ve noticed that i haven’t been as open as i use to be about my life, like not writing as much and not sharing all the details of my human condition. i think a number of things have caused this shift in how i share my life online…
blogs suddenly became popular a few years back and it seems like the new found audience turned a lot of blogs into performances, because after all an audience expects something interesting. me writing about my life isn’t interesting, so i was like, “umm, maybe i shouldn’t write about my life.†another cause of the shift was me simply getting older, and becoming a bit more self conscious and not wanting to expose as much as i did when i was a teenager. i don’t think i will ever be as open as i once was with my online blog, but i do want to go back to writing about my life even if it is the most boring thing on the internet + write about other crap.
so this blog is about me, MY LIFE, the music that is making up the soundtrack of my life, the words that are inspiring me or the words that i am writing, fashionable things i want but can’t afford, reaction to shallow celebrity news, the projects i’m working on, the little fun i do have, the issues that are making me think on how i live my life, and all the uncategorized stuff that i find interesting or worthwhile.
but perhaps for the most part most entries will probably be like, “today i ate cereal for breakfast, just thought i should share.” at times, quantity over quality (twitter will help me accomplish this). haha.
this is a new start. this is my brain on the internet! ;)
p.s. be warned that i use “haha” a lot instead of “lol” even if stuff isn’t THAT funny and i never use appropriate caps when i write online.
